Cargo Specifications:

Lashing points should be clearly visible or marked in order to avoid damage to unit when lashing on board the vessel.
All safety equipment used during normal operation of unit must be intact and fully functioning, including but not limited to: seat belt, roll-cage and/or safety bar, emergency shut-off or fuel cut-off switches, etc. Please contact NYK if cargo is delivered in a “stripped down” mode (e.g. cab, equipment, etc., is shipped separately and not intact).
All federal, state, and local license plates and registration stickers must be removed from the unit prior to receiving at the terminal.
Please include a New or Used description of such cargo upon receipt in terminal and recorded into respective tracking system. This will assist us in identifying potential risk cargo (Used) and assist in evaluating stowage position on board vessel.
Dock Receipts are to be completed and surrendered with all cargo being delivered. Ensure all fields are updated with accurate information, including booking number for intended vessel, submitted cargo description containing accurate dimensions weights in LBS/ KGS. If supplementary cargo is contained in or on the main body of the unit, they are to be itemized and weights individually recorded.
Unless otherwise instructed by NYK RoRo Operations staff, no cargo of any type shall be received if it contains dangerous goods (e.g. pressurized gas, hazardous chemicals, or biohazard materials other than fuel oils and lubricants used during normal operation of the unit). Prior to delivery and receipt, any used cargo that formerly did carry hazardous materials (i.e. fuel trucks or chemical sprayers) must have a certificate of inspection stating that the unit is clean and safe for marine transport.
Shipper is responsible for all correct information and standards to be followed, in case of any extra cost or/and inability to load due to misinformation or faulty machine, shipper will be held accountable for.
Unless otherwise instructed by NYK RoRo Operations staff, no cargo of any type shall be received with personal items or un-manifested cargo inside the unit. All contents and/or parts to units must be declared and listed on to ensure proper care.
Keys for all locked compartments (e.g. storage boxes, battery compartments, tool boxes, etc.) must be available and kept with the unit when the unit is received at the terminal. This includes any keys for external pad-locks. If requested by the customer, these keys can be kept separate from the unit at the terminal and delivered to the Chief Officer when loaded onto the vessel.
Ensure accurate measurement, length, overall width, and overall height. Measurements must take into account any items that protrude from the main body or unit (e.g. side mirrors, exhausts, booms, arms, cabs, spare tires, ladders, etc.). Measurements should be provided to NYK in metric format.
Units must be able to be safely handled with standard fork-lift equipment. If other equipment is required, please contact NYK RoRo Operations staff to help coordinate delivery as per your terminal contract with NYK.
Crated cargo must have center of gravity, dimensions, weight, and handling instructions properly marked. This is to insure safe storing and handling.
Where wood packaging material (WPM) is used the shipper is responsible for ensuring compliance to all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, ISPSM compliance, debarked, heat treated, fumigated, clear of bugs or pests, IPPC stamped where required and subject to USDA inspection.

All cargo must be clean on the exterior and interior prior to receipt/handling by NYK. Contaminated cargo will be rejected until the customer will arrange for units to be free of dirt, concrete, mud, plant and insect matter, etc.
All cargo must be free of trash and debris on the inside prior to receipt. Cargo will be rejected unless customer will arrange for units to be cleaned out prior to loading. Cargo should be generally clean all around the exterior. Any material contained upon or within cargo will be considered contraband/ contaminated and subject to regulatory enforcement.

Offer is valid for 30 days and is subject to equipment availability and space availability of the nominated vessel. (equipment = Roll Trailer (MAFI) & Tug Master).

Cargo drawing shall be presented by shipper if requested by carrier.
Carrier has a right to claim actual loss related to the cargo operation arising from or relating to the cancellation of the shipment after the booking confirmation.

Transit time does not include dwelling time in the event of transhipment.
Lashing & Unlashing from/ to Roll Trailer (MAFI) in POL/POD: - Shipper shall properly stow / secure the cargo onto Roll Trailer at their responsibility and alongside the vessel at POL.
Any costs incurred from circumstances requiring additional handling or equipment, outside of normal vessel/terminal operations, will be for the account of the cargo.
All origin receiving, destination delivery and local charges are for the account of the cargo.
Transit time is subject to weather conditions, port rotations and overall connecting schedules.
NYK Line reserves the right to correct any omission or clerical error made in the quote process.
Cargo to be freighted on actual dimensions recorded at the terminal upon delivery, which may result in a higher rate/cost than quoted.
Terms are Free Alongside Ship (FAS); the Freight includes loading of the cargo from alongside the vessel and unloading from the vessel to shipside at the Port of Discharge.

If equipped with wheels, all wheels must be intact with fully inflated tires. (Wooden Wheels are not accepted)
If equipped with tracks, all tracks must be intact and fully functioning.
Properly running engine. The engine must be able to start on its own or with a quick jump-start only.
Properly functioning transmission and hydraulic systems. Unit must be able to operate in forward and reverse.
Properly functioning brakes and steering unit.
No leaking oil or fluids.
Fuel tank must be less than ¼ full.
Fully intact windshields and windows. No broken glass in the unit.

There must be no visible signs of blood or other bodily fluids.
All federal, state, and local license plates and registration stickers must be removed from the unit prior to receiving at the terminal.
Please include a NEW or USED description of such cargo upon receipt in terminal and recorded into respective tracking system. This will assist us in identifying potential risk cargo (USED) and assist in evaluating stowage position on board vessel.

Unless otherwise instructed by NYK RoRo Operations staff, no loaded Trailers/Trucks shall be received if it contains any of the following cargo: Asbestos, Used Tires, Automobiles, Military Cargo, Fireworks, Explosives, Flexi-Tanks or Hides. Also, NYK RoRo reserves the right to reject any loaded trailers/trucks deemed unsafe to handle or area unseaworthy.
Unless otherwise instructed by NYK RoRo Operations staff, no cargo of any type shall be received with personal items, household goods or unmanifested cargo inside the unit. All contents and/or parts to units must be declared and listed on to ensure proper care.
We inform that our operations shall be subject to random inspection and in case found any of the above restricted cargo listed carrier will have the right to refuse it´s loading w/o liability to same cargo´s storage, handling, or any other involved cost as a result of this act.

Static Cargo: (fork-lift and MAFI cargo)

Units must be able to be safely handled with standard fork-lift equipment. If other equipment is required, please contact NYK RoRo Operations staff to help coordinate delivery as per your terminal contract with NYK.

Cargo destinated to Colombia:

Washing certificate/receipt/invoice: for used cars.
Washing and fumigation certificate: for machinery
A fumigation certificate is a must for all cargo in contact with soil, seeds, or green residues.

Carrier’s terms and conditions stipulated in its Bill of Lading form or Waybill form, as the case may be, shall be applied to this carriage of contract. In case your Company is not an actual shipper to be shown on the BL, this should be notified by your good company to the Shipper named on the Bill of Lading or Waybill.

Shipper shall properly stow / secure the cargo onto Roll Trailer at their responsibility and alongside the vessel at POL.
Unlashing operation from Roll Trailer (MAFI) at POD shall be arranged under consignee's responsibility and cost.

Cases and crates shall be stackable conditions with no tier limitation.
Cargo drawing shall be presented by shipper if requested by carrier.
Carrier has a right to claim actual loss related to the cargo operation arising from or relating to the cancellation of the shipment after the booking confirmation.
W/M (Weight/Measurement): The freight shall be determined by the weight or M3 of the freight, whichever is higher.
For rates ex-Brazil to any Mercosur country, the waiver is subject to approval by local authorities.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS
Carrier's terms and conditions stipulated in its Bill of Lading form or Waybill form, as the case may be, shall be applied to all cargo or this carriage of contract. In case your Company is not actual shipper to be shown on the BL, this should be notified by your good company to the Shipper named on the Bill of Lading or Waybill.
Cargo cannot contain dangerous goods (e.g. pressurized gas, hazardous chemicals, biohazard materials, etc)
All second hand cargo must be totally clean, any cleaning required by authorities at Origin or Destination will be for cargo account Units should not contain fuel in excess of that required for port handling (max 1/4 tank).
Cargo claims are only accepted at discharge port or destination (POD)
In case a waiver is required for shipping (i.e. Mercosur), same must be requested/arranged by shipper
Carrier has the right to reject the cargo in case Shipper does not comply with all rules, tems and conditions
Cargo with OOG dims or weight must be consulted case by case
Local Charges may apply at different ports for cargo account, these should be checked Shpr/Cnee at POL or POD.
Free storage time at Port Terminal can be limited, and should be checked by Shpr/Cnee at POL or POD (i.e.: @ Zarate = 7 days)

STATIC & MAFI CARGO
All above general terms and conditions apply
Static Cargo weighing less than 13 tons, must be packed and suitable for forklift handling. Max height allowed 5.00 mts Static cargo over 13 tons will be shipped on Mafis and different charges may apply.
Mafis can load static cargo up to aprox 100 tns (subject to vessel ramp) and 4,00 mts maximum height.
Stuffing / stripping /lashing materials of cargo on Mafi is for customer account.
Cargo stuffed on Mafis must be accompanied by an official Lashing Certificate to obtain cargo/loading approval.
Wood materials or pallets used for cargo must comply with International Phytosanitary Rules (ISPM15), Static cargo not suitable for forklift handling, must have lifting/securing points clearly indicated

SELF ROPELLED OR TOWABLE CARGO
All above general terms and conditions apply
Self propelled or towable cargo must be in perfect running condition. In case cargo has to be assisted, additional charges may apply. Fluid systems or engines should be free of any leak. Any damage or costs caused by unsuitable cargo will be for cargo account For cargo to be considered towable, it must offer standard or proper towing fittings/couplings.
Exceptions to above must be informed to carrier to confirm towability, contrary case cargo may be rejected or loaded as static

SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR POV , VANS, MOTORHOMES. (Privately Owned Vehicles)
All above general terms and conditions apply
Units cannot contain any kind of personal effects or loose items (luggage, clothing, tools, etc.) Units cannot contain any kind of drums, tanks, canisters or containers (full or empty) Units cannot contain any dangerous, flammable or IMO cargo/utensils.
Any basic kitchenware, tools or similar items contained, must be properly stored, secured and locked Carrier will not be liable for any loss or claim related to personal items shipped with the unit

Space & allocation
This quotation is not a booking confirmation. Shipment is subject to space, schedule and booking confirmation.
Schedule and/or rotation are subject to change with or without notice.
If the cargo is technically not suitable for loading/discharge, NYK RORO reserves the right to accept or refuse at any moment even if space and booking has been confirmed
Space and booking request to be made 15 days prior vessel's ETA to loading port.
Documentation cut-off: Shipping Instruction must be sent 3 working days prior announced vessel ETA
Cargo cut-off: Cargo must be ready to be loaded at port 48 hrs prior announced vessel ETA.

Cargo measurement
Cargo measurements will be taken using overall length, overall width, and overall height. Measurements must include any items that protrude from the main body or unit (e.g. side mirrors, exhausts, booms, arms, cabs, spare tires, ladders, etc.).
Measurements should be provided to NYK in metric system.
NYK reserves the right to measure or weight cargo at any moment and modify freight accordingly.

Freight
Basis Full Liner Terms considering carrier’s responsibility from vessel’s ramp at loading port to vessel’s ramp at discharge port.
Freight to be prepaid 100% to NYK designated bank account (before discharge).
The complete amount of Ocean Freight should be transferred to NYK Line's Bank Account. NYK Line's account does not charge any commission for receiving the transmission. Any other Bank Commission should be considered by the payer before making the transfer of funds.
Any surcharges including THC, taxes, fees, wharfage on cargo and/ or freight are not included in this quotation and to be for shipper and/or consignee account.
Release of Original Bill of Lading as well as cargo will be instructed at destination once the complete amount of Ocean Freight has been reflected into NYK Line's account.
Cargo transportation insurance is for Shipper’s / Consignee’s account.

Cargo Receiving Criteria (based on cargo being self-propelled / rolling towable)
All cargo should be delivered in optimal mechanical and security conditions for the transport purpose. If cargo presents any mechanical/electrical/technical/regulatory problems prior to loading or during the sea passage, NYK RORO reserves the right to decline the cargo or discharge at any intermediate port to ensure the safety of the vessel and cargo. Any cost generated during sea passage/ or at discharge port due to mechanical/electrical/regulatory problems will be charged to shipper/consignee.
Piggy Backed Cargo (two truck heads as one move) is accepted as long as the two units are properly attached and secured for transport
Rolling Towable cargo must have a 2” king size pin, is shipper’s responsibility to corroborate the requirement to ensure cargo handling, Extra cost or cargo not loaded due pin incompatibility to be for shippers/consignee responsibility/account.
All cargo must be free of trash and debris on the inside prior to receipt.
Unless otherwise instructed by NYK RoRo staff, no cargo of any type shall be received with personal items or un-manifested cargo inside the unit. All valued contents, accessories, and/or parts belonging to units must be declared and listed on Dock Receipts to ensure proper care and safety.
Prior to delivery and receipt, any used cargo that formerly did carry hazardous materials (i.e. fuel trucks, tank trucks, agricultural machinery or chemical sprayers) must have a certificate of inspection or sanitary certificate or “Gas-Free Certificate” stating that the unit is clean and safe for marine transport.
HEAVY EQUIPMENT: sophisticated, unusual, or discontinued cargo should be accompanied by operating instructions to cover start-stop-parking brake and full driving hydraulic extensions including a 24 Hrs phone number for technical support at the load & discharge ports.
If cargo cannot be discharged due technical problems: non start, mechanical/electrical problem, or other related to the operation of the self-propelled unit and must be returned to loading port or discharged to other port for its repairing, the freight equivalent will be charged for the extra sea passage required to discharge the unit.
NYK Group and ship’s Captain reserve the right of final cargo acceptance in all cases.
